Where the forest meets the sea, Ragnar Relay Northwest Passage will excite your senses and leave you breathless. The journey begins near the Canadian border in the city of Blaine, WA. Then you will run relay style from point to point as you experience the iconic sights of the Pacific Northwest including the glacial Cascade and Olympic Mountain ranges, Deception Pass and the Puget Sound. As you and your team cover 200 miles of running, vibrant fireweed blossoms light the way through the gently rolling countryside, quaint towns and endless skies that backdrop noble bald eagles soaring above the trees. As you push through the fatigue and final miles of the course, the excitement will grow with each step as you surge to the finish line on Whidbey Island for a celebration you won’t soon forget.
I often recommend Ragnar to friends. The concept is intimidating and I frequently receive looks of amazement from people who are unfamiliar with Ragnar when I explain the idea of a 196 mile race. The reality though is that there's something for every type of runner, novice to experienced. There's something about working as a team, each person determined to carry their part while supporting everyone else, that always recharges that spirit of running in me and I enjoy seeing the same feeling in other people as well.
